About Us

Friends of the Mountain, Incorporated was founded in 2002 and was the inspiration of local conservationist Carol Pedder, who is also the organizations president.

Ms. Pedder has lived in the San Bernardino Mountains and National Forest for over 35 years. She was a co-founder of both the "Save Our Forest Association" (SOFA) and the "San Bernardino Mountains Land Trust" (SBMLT), of which she is a former president.

Friends of the Mountain, Incorporated is a small community based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Most of what we do and have done is paid for out of our own pockets. We haven't gotten any large donations or grants but we do the best we can with what we have. We do not have any paid staff and so everything we do is done on our own donated time.

We work alone and with other organizations to preserve as much of our mountains, forest, and wildlife as we can.

We are based in the small mountain community of Rimforest, approximately 3 miles from Lake Arrowhead.
